Teen Patti Gold Guide: Features, Free Chips & How It Compares to Teen Patti Master

Teen Patti Gold is a multiplayer Teen Patti app made by Moonfrog Labs, a Bengaluru game studio. It has been one of the best-known Teen Patti apps in India for years, and it now bundles Rummy, Poker and Andar Bahar alongside the three-card tables.

It differs from many Teen Patti apps in two ways that matter for safety: it is listed on the official app stores, and it is played with virtual chips that cannot be withdrawn as money.

Official Play Store Teen Patti Gold vs real-cash clone APKs

The official Teen Patti Gold, made by Moonfrog Labs and listed on the Google Play Store and the App Store, is a 100% free-to-play social card game. It runs on virtual chips that can never be withdrawn as real cash, whatever you win.

That makes it easy to spot a fake. Search results and WhatsApp forwards are full of APKs that borrow the Teen Patti Gold name and logo but work very differently:

If an app called Teen Patti Gold asks you to add money through UPI, promises cash withdrawals, or is not published by Moonfrog Labs, it is not the official app. Delete it, and read our app safety guide if you have already entered your phone number or OTP.

What is inside the app

• Classic Teen Patti. Standard tables with boot, blind and seen play, side show and show, using the usual hand rankings.
• Variations. Separate tables for Joker, Hukam, Muflis, Royal and AK47. Each one changes which hands win or which cards are wild. Our variations guide explains the rules of each.
• Private tables. Play with friends and family at a table only you invite people to, the closest thing to a home game.
• Tournaments. Timed events with larger chip stakes and leaderboards.
• Rummy, Poker and Andar Bahar. Other card games in the same app, using the same chip balance.

Each mode has its own lobby, and the dealer screen names the mode before the deal. The line-up changes with updates, so open the rules screen for any table you have not played before.

How chips work

Everything in Teen Patti Gold is played with chips. You get free chips when you start and through daily bonuses, and you can buy more inside the app.

• Chips cannot be cashed out. There is no withdrawal to UPI or a bank account. Anyone offering to "convert" Teen Patti Gold chips to money is running a scam.
• Buying chips is spending, not depositing. Money spent on chips is gone, even if you win a big pot afterwards.
• Do not buy chips from other players or sellers. Chip sellers on Instagram, Telegram or WhatsApp often take the payment and deliver nothing, or ask for your login.
• Set a spend limit. Google Play and the App Store both let you require a password or approval for purchases. Turn it on, especially if children use the phone.

Legitimate free chips vs "unlimited mod APK" scams

Teen Patti Gold gives away chips in several ways, all inside the app itself:

• Daily bonus and spin wheel. Free chips for opening the app each day, and a bonus wheel that refills on a timer.
• Gullak and saving offers. Where the app shows a gullak (piggy bank), part of what you play is set aside and can be unlocked later as chips.
• Social sync. Linking a login, such as a Facebook or Google account, keeps your chips and level when you change phones, and adds friends you can invite to private tables.
• Tournaments and events. Leaderboard prizes paid in chips.

None of these ever needs an APK file, a password, an OTP or a payment outside the app store.

"Teen Patti Gold mod APK" files promising unlimited chips are a different story. Chip balances live on Moonfrog's servers, so a modified app on your phone cannot add a single chip. What these files can do is steal the Google or Facebook login you use inside them, read your SMS for OTPs, and show ads or install other apps. How to download Teen Patti Gold safely

Because Teen Patti Gold is on the official stores, the safest download is also the simplest:

1. Open the Google Play Store on Android or the App Store on iPhone.
2. Search for Teen Patti Gold and open the listing.
3. Check that the developer is Moonfrog Labs before you tap Install.
4. Install it from the store, not from a website link.

Avoid APK sites and "Teen Patti Gold mod APK" downloads. A file that promises unlimited chips cannot deliver them, because chip balances are stored on the game's server, and such files are a common way to steal accounts. Our app safety guide lists the warning signs.

Teen Patti Gold vs Teen Patti Master: key differences

Both apps play the same core game, but they are built for very different things:

The cash claims are where the real difference lies. A Teen Patti Gold chip is worth nothing outside the game, so there is nothing to deposit, withdraw or lose beyond what you choose to spend on chips. Bonus and withdrawal offers around Teen Patti Master, and around clone APKs that copy either name, are part of online money play, which is banned across India under the 2025 Act. Several unrelated apps use "Gold" in their name, including Teen Patti Master Gold and Teen Patti Golds. They are not made by Moonfrog. Always check the developer name on the listing, not just the name and icon.

Is Teen Patti Gold legal in India?

The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 bans online money games, where you pay in expecting to win money back.
